Kevin Roberts, one of our optometrists, has been providing domiciliary eye examinations to patients in their own homes and in care homes for a number of years; now we offer this service as part of Shore Sight's commitment to providing eye care to those who need it most.
For many housebound patients, their vision provides most of their enjoyment from life - whether that be through television, reading, puzzles and crafts, or just being able to recognise family members' faces. As with patients in practice, even if someone feels 'nothing can be done' for their poor vision, we have exceptional success with helping patients to make the most of their remaining sight; this can be through simple solutions such as contrast spectacles or personalised advice on magnifiers.
As well as a thorough examination, we offer a full spectacle dispensing service. If you normally claim an NHS-funded eye exam and are unable to get to an optician unassisted, then this service is free - any other NHS contributions apply as usual.
We routinely make visits to the area shown below, but please do enquire for appointments outside of this area.
